D.B. Cooper News

Many years ago, there was a headline catching crime or money heist in the news here in the Pacific Northwest. It caught the attention of the media and the populace for its audacity. What happened to the culprit and the money has never been known to date though there is a lot of speculation.
Now a recent
story has come out that the children of one suspect possibility found a parachute in the home of their deceased parent they believe the father was D. B. Cooper. Possible DNA testing could solve this crime. More also can be read in this article too.

A Black Moon

From the Epoch Times, "the blue moon being the second full moon of a single month. The black moon, on the other hand, is a second new moon appearing in the same month.

“In the new moon, the moon is in between the earth and the sun,” said Jim Todd, OMSI’s Director of Space Science Education. “And the only way you can see the new moon, is during the solar eclipse like in 2017. That’s why we don’t see it. That’s why it’s defined as black.”
“So every month, we have a new moon, because it goes around the Earth 29 and a half days. That’s called the lunar cycle. So every month we have a new moon. This month, because of the calendar system, we have two that falls on the calendar system,” he said. “And so that means the lunar cycles goes around the Earth 13 times in one year, and every month we have a new moon. Timing is everything.”
The Black Moon is due to occur on November 30. The rest of the world will experience the Black Moon on December 1 and 30th.

Fall Yard Colors

Fall creates a lot of color contrasts as the rain moves in mixed with sun breaks. The leaves change to a mix of yellow, red, and brown as exhibited with the trees in our yard in this photo.

Storms At The Ocean Beach

We went to see the high tides over on the coast along with staying at a hotel in Lincoln City. It was very breezy with waves of rain broken up by sunshine. At times this lead to amazing color contrasts as the pictures below show. The stormy ocean and beaches at Lincoln City.

Veteran's Day Memories

We have several photos we inherited of Bob's grandfather, John N. Thayer. He was part of the 1st Cavalry (when they had horses), Troop K. He was also part of the battle around 1910 at Agua Prieta in Texas along the border.
Today is Veteran's Day and in memory of Grandpa John, I include a photo.

Another Sunrise

The rain will be coming into our area this weekend and last for the rest of the week. An early sunrise surprised me this morning with beautiful color over the mountains before we lose the clear, sunny skies.

Space Needle

We went walking around the Queen Anne neighborhood just north of Seattle Center last Friday. While walking by the Seattle Opera House, I caught a view of the Space Needle through a gap with the Opera House glass siding and other structures. We could see the Space Needle from our hotel room window though the wire roof enclosure would block some of it. It was cool to see it lit at night and also the elevator (viewable with glass) going up and down.

Vicki at Sea-Meow in Seattle

Well, I did it… I gave a presentation in front of a live audience at the Seattle Exhibition Hall at Seattle Center 2 days ago. It was noisy since there was a lot of exhibits and people talking in the hall. The stage was not really separated and sound proofed yet they were troopers to listen to me talk about the miracle of treating FIP. It was interesting to be back in Seattle after not staying there probably for the past 10 years?
Here is to the wonder of cats.

Howlloween Girls

The girls went out trick or treating last night in their old neighborhood. It always seems like a good place to enjoy the holiday evening, see other kids, old neighbors, and get some candy. They dressed up as a mermaid (Vada) and a princess (Victoria). They looked pretty special.
